The local
SWCD is charged by state law to provide assistance to promote wise use
of the county’s soil, water, and related natural resources.

Glenn Lange, Resource
Conservationist

Glenn
serves as a Resource Conservationist for the District and is available
to assist landowners and land users with erosion and sediment control,
drainage problems, and other natural resource concerns. He has a
strong background in vegetation management, especially as it applies
to erosion control and wildlife habitat. In addition Glenn serves on
the Hoosier Heartland Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D)
Council’s Plant-A-Million (trees) project Advisory Committee that
covers ten counties in central Indiana area. Additional work tasks
will favor assistance to local watershed group projects efforts in
Marion County, such as the Eagle Creek Watershed Alliance and the
Lower Fall Creek Watershed Planning Study Group being formed
Glenn, a graduate of Purdue University, has a B.S degree in Wildlife
Science. Glenn recently retired after a 31 year career with the
Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Division of Fish and
Wildlife. There he served as a District Wildlife Biologist assisting
landowners, Public Affairs Unit Supervisor working on outreach
programs; and Wildlife Section program development as Staff Specialist
& Section Chief, He is a Certified Wildlife Biologist and has been
involved in all phases of wildlife habitat and population management
in Indiana. |

Julie Farr,
Resource Conservationist

Julie worked as a full time Resource Conservationist for the
District from 1988 to the end of 1996. For many years since then, she
has assisted the District in training new employees and helping with
technical assistance during their busy seasons. Julie currently holds
a part-time position providing consultation, survey and design
assistance to help homeowners with their land use, drainage and
erosion problems. She also edits the District’s newsletter and
helps create educational publications.
Prior to working for the District Julie worked for the Marion County
Health Department. She received a B.S. degree in Public Affairs/
Environmental Science from Indiana University. |

Administrative Assistant

finances, and assists people with map needs.
Marilyn has been employed with the District since 1978.
