What's New in Indianapolis, IN?


You Are Invited to the Marion County Soil & Water Conservation District Annual Meeting -

Tuesday, March 20, 2012

4:00 - 6:00 p.m.

The Marion County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) invites you to our Annual Meeting Open House.  The meeting will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at our new office on the Indiana State Fairgrounds, Discovery Hall, Conference Center, 1202 East 38th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46205.  Tours of our new office space will be available.  Light refreshments will be served 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

At 5:15 p.m. Dennis Slaughter, Chair of the Marion SWCD Board of Supervisors will give a short report of some of the District’s accomplishments for 2011 and what’s in store for the District in the year ahead.

In addition the District will hold a supervisor election.  Paula Baldwin, a current Board member has been nominated for re-election.  Additional individuals can be nominated from the floor.

The Marion County Soil and Water Conservation District was created to deliver technical assistance, education and cost share funding through voluntary programs.  District staff, Glenn Lange, Julie Farr, and Marilyn Hughes help landowners address natural resource concerns including drainage and erosion control issues..
